Report: White Sox going to pick up Anderson's $12.5 million option for 2023

According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the White Sox are going to pick up shortstop Tim Anderson's $12.5 million club option for 2023.

Breaking news it's not - getting Anderson at that price is a no-brainer and there is zero chance the Sox are going to go in the other direction and opt for a $1 million buyout.

Anderson, who has a $14 million club option for the 2024 season, was the American League batting champion in 2019 with a .335 batting average. He finished second in 2020 with a .322 average.

This past season, the two-time all star was limited to 79 games. He missed the final two months with a finger injury and three weeks in June with a strained groin.

Anderson hit .301/.339/.395 with 6 home runs and 25 RBI.
