Blackhawks make 2 trades Wednesday, sending former first-round pick Beaudin to Canadians
The Blackhawks have traded 2018 first-round pick defenseman Nicolas Beaudin to the Montreal Canadians for forward Cameron Hillis.
Hillis will report to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Beaudin played in 22 career games for the Blackhawks, scoring 2 goals and adding 4 assists.
Hillis made his NHL debut last season, appearing in one game.
The 22-year-old has scored two goals in 3 games this season with the Trois-Rivieres Lions of the ECHL.
The 5-foot-9, 174-pound native of Oshawa, Ontario, was a third-round pick of the Canadians in 2018.
Beaudin scored 7 goals with 35 assists in 137 games with the IceHogs.
Later Wednesday, the Hawks sent forward Evan Barratt to Philadelphia for defenseman Cooper Zech.
The 23-year-old Zech scored 11 points in 53 games last season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in AHL.
Zech will report to the IceHogs.
The South Lyon, Michigan, native was signed by the Flyers as a free agent in 2021.
Barratt, a third-round pick by the Hawks in 2017, had 28 points in 63 games last season for the IceHogs.
