Candidate forum for state Senate District 21 set for Oct. 13

Voters of the newly configured Illinois Senate 21st District are invited to attend an online candidate forum at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Naperville, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn.

Democrat Laura Ellman and Republican Kathleen Murray, who are vying for the seat in the Nov. 8 election, have accepted the invitation for the forum.

The public forum is free, but guests must register in advance via lwvnaperville.org/event/illinois-state-senate-21st-district-candidate-forum/

The forum will be recorded and available online afterward at the Naperville League's YouTube channel.

Voters are invited to submit questions to candidates by emailing them to lwvnaperville@gmail.com no later than 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2.

Visit lwvnaperville.org for more information. All persons aged 16 and older are welcome to become members of the League of Women Voters.

Unlike a debate, a forum involves a neutral trained moderator from outside the district who presents questions to candidates for their live responses.
