Northbrook's second Brewfest coming on tap
All right, Dogfish Head, be an Alarmist. Start the Revolution.
Dogfish Head, Alarmist and Revolution all are among more than a dozen breweries represented at the second Northbrook Brewfest.
Presented by the Northbrook Park District and the Village of Northbrook, Brewfest runs from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Village Green Park.
Strictly a 21-and-older event, with identification checked at the entrance and prepaid tickets collected, those procedures didn't prevent the 2021 event from selling out of its limited allotment of tickets.
Featuring Glenview's own Tangled Roots brewery, 15 craft breweries are slated to have products at the fest.
From Evanston there's Sketchbook and Smylie Brothers; Chicago delivers Alarmist, Revolution and Right Bee Cider. The land below I-80 is represented by Bourbonnais' Brickstone. The Western suburbs bring Warrenville's Two Brothers and Naperville's 2 Fool Cider.
Out-of-state breweries include Firestone Walker and Sierra Nevada out of California; Delaware's Dogfish Head; Oregon's Hop Valley; and New Holland from Holland, Michigan.
Paulaner, the veteran out of Munich, Germany, wraps up the announced Brewfest roster.
The $45 admission ($48.18 including fees) includes 15 tasting tickets for 5-ounce portions, and an entry gift bag with a tasting glass and a free prize drawing.
The Northbrook Brewfest also will offer a band, the Infinity rock band that's long been popular in Chicago; a caricature artist, well-employed at the 2021 event; food for purchase from Johnny's Snack Shop; and Northbrook Brewfest T-shirts at $15 apiece.
An access-only pass for $15 ($16.93 with fees) is available, but does not include the tasting tickets or promotional items.
For tickets, move fast to the Northbrook Park District website, www.nbparks.org, where the event is listed, or call (847) 291-2993.
