Parade to lead off 48th annual Septemberfest Sept. 10

The 48th annual Septemberfest will kick off with a parade on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from Tee Lane, heading north to Schick Road, then proceeding west to end up in Old Town.

Opening at 11 a.m., the fest runs until 10 p.m. in Old Town Park. It will feature a variety of food and drink vendors, crafters, local businesses, live entertainment, a Kiddie Carnival and much more.

Following the parade, an opening ceremony begins at noon with Mayor Franco Coladipietro welcoming the community, and Bloomingdale Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7539 raising the flag.

It will be followed by the introduction of the Joe Draghi/Zaccardi Scholarship recipients at 12:10 p.m. and the national anthem at 12:15 p.m.

There will be a full slate of local entertainment going into the night with concerts by the Wayouts, Trippin' Billies and Hi Infidelity Band.

The Kiddie Carnival will be open from 1 to 10 p.m. with tickets for $1.25 each or 20 for $22.

The Wayouts will be playing the best 1960s garage rock, from the Kinks, Animals, Troggs, The Box Tops, The McCoys and more, at 4:15 p.m. They will be followed by Trippin' Billies, the Dave Matthews tribute band, at 6:15 p.m. Headliner Hi Infidelity will take the stage at 8 p.m.

Also performing will be Center Stage Dance Studio, balloon artist Jason Kollum, comedian Brett Walkow, and the School of Rock.
