Frassati Catholic Academy to host second annual Harvest Hustle 5K and Walk

Frassati Catholic Academy in Wauconda is inviting local residents to participate in its second annual Harvest Hustle 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, Sept. 25. The event takes place at 9 a.m. at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside.

The USATF certified course will wind through a wooded setting and feature computerized timing and awards to the top two male and female finishers in multiple age groups. Runners of all skill level and walkers are welcome.

"We're very excited to be hosting this great family event again this year in a setting that perfect for both runners and walkers," said Lisa Schwabe, Marketing and Development director for the school which serves students from pre-K to eighth grade. "Our school and its predecessors have been serving families throughout Lake County for more than 125 years and we look forward to welcoming students, alumni, families and friends to this community event."

Registration is open at https://raceroster.com/events/2022/61847/fca-harvest-hustle-5k.

Entry fee for individuals is $35 but families of four can take advantage of a discount of $120 per family. Runners and walkers who sign up by Sept, 11, will be guaranteed an event T-shirt.

Schwabe also indicated that there are also a limited number of event sponsorships still available.

"This is a great opportunity to associate your business with an institution with a rich tradition in communities including Wauconda, Mundelein, Island Lake, Volo, Round Lake, Barrington, and others."

Potential sponsors can contact Schwabe directly at (847) 526-6311, ext. 248.

Funds raised from the event will assist with the ongoing support of Frassati Catholic Academy and help to provide scholarships to students in need.

"With a storied and successful history of providing Catholic education throughout the area, we are committed to continuing to serve families for years to come," said Frassati Principal Tammy Kleckner. "While the funds raised from the Harvest Hustle will allow us to educate students, including many from underserved communities, we also look forward to providing a fun, healthy, family event for everyone. We look forward to a great turnout for the Harvest Hustle."
