Two injured when SUV hits IDOT truck in Northbrook

Two people were injured Friday morning when an SUV struck an Illinois Department of Transportation "Help Truck" in Northbrook, according to the Northbrook Fire Department.

Northbrook firefighters responded at 10:20 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash on Route 41 near the Edens Spur Bridge entrance.

Authorities said the SUV hit the IDOT vehicle in the rear.

One occupant of the IDOT vehicle and another in the SUV were taken to Highland Park Hospital with injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
