Naper Nights continues July 15-16 with tributes to '90s bands

On July 15-16, the Naper Nights Community Concert Series at Naper Settlement continues this month with tribute acts performing the hits of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, and more.

A variety of food, wine, beer, and a new alcoholic seltzer will be available at each concert from 5 to 10 p.m.

July 15's lineup includes performances by Blink-180TRUE, a Blink-182 tribute, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Red NOT Chili Peppers, a tribute to Red Hot Chili Peppers, from 8 to 10 p.m.

On July 16, Smells Like Nirvana will play a Nirvana tribute from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and The Ten Band will perform a tribute to Pearl Jam from 8 to 10 p.m.

Both concerts will open each night with local students from the School of Rock playing their favorites on the Naper Nights stage from 5 to 5:40 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and/or blankets and find your spot on the lawn. Gate opens at 5 p.m. each night.

Local food vendors include Station One Smokehouse, Ben & Jerry's, Everdine's Grilled Cheese, Little Pops Pizzeria, Guzman y Gomez, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and John's Rib House.

Beer selections from Alter Brewing Company, wine selections from Rodney Strong Vineyards and Knotty Vines, and a new organic tequila seltzer, Freshie, will be available.

A children's area with activities provided by Pinot's Palette, WickedBall Chicago, PRO Martial Arts, and Naper Settlement will also be on site.

Each night, all tips collected at the beverage tents benefit a local organization.

Tips on Friday benefit the Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley, and Saturday's tips will go to the Naperville Junior Woman's Club.

Tickets are $20 or $15 for youth, ages 4 to 12. Members and children under 4 receive complimentary admission.

Naper Nights celebrates historic milestones in rock music and pop culture with themed tribute concerts on two nights each month.

On Aug. 19-20, the series will wrap up with Bruce in the USA, a Bruce Springsteen tribute; Hurricane Gumbo, performing Louisiana party music; Journeyman, a Eric Clapton tribute; and Brooklyn Charmers, a Steely Dan tribute band.

Naper Settlement is located at 523 S Webster St. Free parking is available in the Municipal Parking Garage on the corner of Eagle and Aurora and in the Naper Settlement visitor's lot on Porter Avenue and Webster Street.
