Glen Ellyn Historical Society chair Suzanne Carty says goodbye to her post after 10 years
The board of directors of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society celebrated President Suzanne Carty's decade of leadership on June 15, 2022 as Carty announced her retirement from the board.
During her time as president, the historical society grew in membership, programming and professionalism despite a flood, a pandemic, and other challenges.
Her favorite event was Tavern Day, now Pioneer Day.
Her countless contributions to that day and others were presented in a hard-bound memory book to her, along with a Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce gift certificate, and a painted oval wooden box from 1988 featuring her home and other historic sites in the village. There was also cake.
Carty will remain active serving on various committees in the future.
