Monaville Road near Fox Lake to reopen next week

After being closed since April 13 because of a failed culvert, Monaville Road between Fairfield Road and Cedar Lake Road near Fox Lake is expected to reopen the week of June 6.

A new precast box culvert was set, reinforcement bars installed and the concrete wall poured in two stages, which cured over the holiday weekend. A waterproof barrier also was installed.

Work is shifting to paving the road next week. Work will continue on-site afterward for minor grading, guardrail installation and landscaping.

The detour route until the road reopens is Cedar Lake Road to Rollins Road to Fairfield Road.
