Cosley Zoo invades Summer Reading Kickoff at West Chicago Public Library June 11

Adults, teens, and youth can "Read Beyond the Beaten Path" at the West Chicago Public Library's Summer Reading Camp as we transform ourselves into WCPLD National Park!

It all starts with the Summer Reading kickoff on the library's lawn, where families will be able to enjoy a presentation from Cosley Zoo.

The zoo will be bringing some of their furry friends to the library to give a presentation about animal habitats and adaptations. This presentation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m.

Everyone who comes to the Summer Reading Kickoff will also be able to take home a Summer Reading Survival Bag. Each person will be able to individually pick the items they want to put in their Survival Bags from our three Survival Stores.

Each Survival Store will be set up for a different age group: one for adults, one for teens, and one for youth, ensuring that every summer reader gets to pick the items that resonate most with them. All items and bags will be available while supplies last, so coming early is encouraged.

To wrap things up, the library will host a Summer Reading Kickoff Drawing at the end of the kickoff. Every person who registers for Summer Reading during the kickoff will be entered into our drawing for a chance to win one of our grand prizes. There will be two grand prizes awarded for each age group: two for adults, two for teens, and two for youth.

The West Chicago Public Library's Summer Reading Kickoff will be happening on June 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. and the library's Summer Reading Program will run from June 11 through Aug. 6.
