Wauconda-area farmhouse fire could be case of arson

No injuries were reported after a fire Friday night at an abandoned farmhouse off Route 176 and Darrell Roads near Wauconda. Officials believe it was arson, though they have not identified a suspect.

Someone was seen on the property about 8:30 Friday p.m., and a fire broke out in a chicken coop afterward.

The farmhouse was destroyed.
