West Chicago panel delays recommendation on proposed residential development

The West Chicago Development Committee voted Monday to delay making a recommendation on Pulte Homes' bid to build a new 266-home subdivision north of the St. Andrew's Golf Course.

Before the meeting, the Meadow Wood Homeowners Association of West Chicago requested in writing for the agenda item to be continued to a future meeting. The homeowners association wants time to analyze Pulte Homes' modified plan for the 111-acre property located southeast of the intersection of Route 59 and Smith Road. The plan commission previously recommended the proposed development at a special meeting held on March 22.

The next development committee meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, May 9.
