Schaumburg Accepting Nominations Through April 15 for Volunteer of the Year

The Village of Schaumburg is currently accepting nominations for Volunteer of the Year to be recognized at its upcoming luncheon - a public event that will feature best-selling author, educator and businessman, Stedman Graham.

Nominations for Schaumburg's Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer Organization of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year will be accepted through Friday, April 15. Nominees can represent social, civic, religious, community, school and nonprofit organizations within the Village of Schaumburg and Schaumburg Township community. Nomination materials are available on the Village of Schaumburg website at https://bit.ly/3wqLGHI.

"This is a great opportunity to say thank you and recognize the volunteers who give selflessly to make our community a better place," said Schaumburg Special Events Coordinator Roxane Benvenuti. "If you know a youth, adult or organization that volunteers in Schaumburg, please consider nominating them to be recognized at this special event."

Award recipients will be selected by a panel of judges from nominations received from residents and the business community. Recipients will be honored at the 34th annual Volunteer of the Year luncheon that will take place Wednesday, May 4 at Chandler's, 401 N. Roselle Rd. in Schaumburg. The luncheon is open to the public. Those interested in attending may register and pay online at https://bit.ly/3wqLGHI by Sunday, April 24. Attendees do not need to be nominated or have someone nominated to attend the event.

The keynote speaker at this year's luncheon will be Stedman Graham (Business Advisor, Chairman & CEO, S. Graham & Associates). Graham is the author of 12 books, including two New York Times best sellers and one Wall Street Journal bestseller.

As a businessman, educator and speaker, Graham lectures and conducts training programs for corporations and educational organizations worldwide on the topic of Identity Leadership, based on the philosophy that one cannot lead anyone else until you first lead yourself.

Graham has served in the United States Army and played professional basketball in the European League. Graham holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Hardin-Simmons University and a Master's Degree in Education from Ball State University and has been awarded three honorary Doctorates. Graham serves on several boards and has received numerous awards.
