Letter: 'No guns' idea won't work
Somebody ought to enlighten Patrick J. O'Malley about his letter in the Opinion section of the Daily Herald titled "A no-gun proposal." First of all, gangs will always have guns, no matter what laws you enact. That's a proven fact. So all this does is take away guns for law-abiding people. If England had done this with the colonies in America, we would not be free now. We would have not won our independence in 1776.
England tried this with their citizens - no guns even for the police. The police had those billy clubs for protection well guess what that didn't work. Wow, what a novel idea.
