League of Women Voters panel to discuss gun safety

The League of Women Voters of Glenview/Glencoe hosts a virtual discussion about gun safety in the home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. Topics will include securing firearms in the home, statistics about children's access to firearms in Illinois, information about gun violence prevention laws, and how advocates are trying to strengthen safe firearms storage through legislation and education. Panelists will include Sgt. Joel Detloff of the Glenview Police Department; Megan Kivarkis of Moms Demand Action; Jim McGrath, League of Women Voters gun violence prevention advocate; and Margaret Sents of the Gun Safety Consortium.
