Glenview man accused of killing cat facing felony charges
A Glenview man accused of killing a pet now is facing felony charges, officials said.
Lovell Johnstone, 64, was arrested March 14 and charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals, according to a news release from the Glenview Police Department. He was taken to the Skokie Courthouse for a bond hearing on March 16.
An investigation revealed Johnstone killed a cat and then put it in the trash, the release said.
Glenview police led the investigation with assistance from the Cook County state's attorney's office.
This is believed to be an isolated incident, police said, and there is no further threat.
