Glenbrook North brings annual food drive plus 42nd spring concert
Glenbrook North High School has begun its annual food drive, dubbed Foodapalooza.
Food will be collected through March 16 at the school, which also will collect nonperishable items at a "day of giving" March 13 and a volleyball tournament March 15.
Glenbrook North will donate the collected food items to the Northfield Township Food Pantry and to the ARK in Chicago.
Free and open to the public, the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra's 42nd spring concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. March 16 at Glenbrook North's Sheely Center for the Performing Arts.
The first half of the concert delivers the four winners of the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra's Concerto Competition, playing four selections featuring clarinet, xylophone, violin and trumpet.
The second half of the concert surrounds themes of the four elements of nature, captured by composers Aaron Copland, Edvard Grieg, Manuel de Falla and Bedrich Smetana.
Glenbrook North's senior players also will be honored during the concert.
