Schaumburg firefighters group donates $35,000 to cancer foundations

The Schaumburg Firefighters Fighting Cancer Pink Tie Crew recently donated $35,000 raised from their annual Pink Tie Ball to two local foundations.

The first donation of $20,000 was made to the Northwest Community Hospital Cancer Foundation, aiding those who cannot afford their own cancer treatment costs.

The second donation of $15,000 was made to the Michael W. Solberg Foundation. The organization was founded in memory of former Schaumburg Firefighter Mike Solberg, who died from Glioblastoma MultiForme in 2016. It provides financial support to individuals, families and organizations dealing with medical crises.
