Butterfield Road closed after fatal crash in Wheaton

Butterfield Road is closed in both directions at Orchard Road while Wheaton police are on the scene investigating a fatal car crash, the city of Wheaton said on its Facebook page.

According to ABC 7, at least one person was killed in a single-car crash that took place around 6 p.m. Friday.

A chopper was sent to the scene and reported seeing the vehicle split into several pieces.

Southbound Orchard Road at Butterfield Road was also closed.

Wheaton said it will provide an update once the roads have reopened.
