Driver, passenger arrested after hit-and-run in Streamwood
Streamwood and Bartlett police Monday handled the separate arrests of a Hoffman Estates driver related to a hit-and-run and his passenger on an outstanding warrant.
Streamwood police arrested 46-year-old Hector Lopez of Hoffman Estates on charges of aggravated driving under the influence and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
At Lopez's bail hearing Tuesday, he was issued a $20,000 D bond with special conditions that included random drug testing and no drinking of alcohol or driving of motor vehicles. His next court appearance was scheduled for March 21 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
Lopez's passenger, 49-year-old Ana M. Delgadillo of Hoffman Estates, was charged with three class A misdemeanors for a failure to appear arrest warrant, obstructing a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.
At about 4:15 p.m. Monday, Bartlett officers assisted the Streamwood Police Department with a reported hit-and-run motor vehicle crash investigation. The Bartlett officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, described as a 2010 Nissan Versa, in the 100 block of Railroad Avenue after it was observed traveling south on Oak Avenue.
The arrest of Lopez was conducted by Streamwood police.
During the traffic stop, Bartlett police learned the female passenger, Delgadillo, had an active failure to appear arrest warrant issued by the Illinois State Police. The Bartlett officers said she obstructed and resisted them by refusing to exit the vehicle after she was told she was under arrest. She pulled away and tensed up her arms when the officers attempted to handcuff her and take her into custody, according to Bartlett police.
On Tuesday, Delgadillo was released on a $7,500 cash deposit bail bond for the failure to appear arrest warrant with an assigned court date of April 1 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows. She was released on a $100 individual bond for the obstructing a peace officer and resisting a peace officer charges with an assigned court date of March 23 at the same location.
