Annual Midwestern Crane Count seeks volunteers

Volunteers are needed for the annual Midwestern Crane Count at sites throughout Lake and McHenry counties.

A workshop will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Volo Bog State Natural Area, 28478 Brandenburg Road, Ingleside, with naturalist Stacy Iwanicki.

Registration is required. Email dnr.volobog@illinois.gov with your name, phone number and group size. The workshop is limited to adults and those 14 or older. Current and new crane monitors are welcome. The crane count is April 9.
