Batavia's Water Street Studios to host opening reception Feb. 11
Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water St. in Batavia, invites the community to its monthly Second Friday event on Feb. 11.
An opening reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. for an exhibit featuring artists Chris Hodge, Dave Wensel, Perry Slade, Pedro Palacios, and Dave Sobotka.
Come mingle with other art lovers and support your favorite local community art center!
There also will be live music with Tina Barber of East Side Harp and a live art demo featuring Water Street Studios School of Art instructor Phil Schorn.
A professional color pencil artist, Schorn will be demonstrating color pencil techniques such as layering, blending, mixing of colors to create a realistic color and look. He also will be demonstrating how to use the pencil with other media such as inks and pastels. His work has been in featured national magazines, newspapers and television. He also has two books on Amazon with his art. Schorn also will be offering an outdoor class "Pan Pastel Colored Pencil Outdoor Workshop" in May, hosted outside by the Fox River in Batavia. Please be aware that masks are required for this event for all. There will be a cash bar and snacks available for purchase.
Aren't able to make it to the opening reception? You can stop by this exhibit until March 6 in-person at Water Street Studios. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday.
