Cocoa Crawl, ice carving displays return to downtown Wheaton

Sparkling ice sculptures will make downtown Wheaton the coolest place in town Saturday.

The Downtown Wheaton Association has organized a free "Ice Art Walk" featuring ice-carving displays. More than 15 sculptures will glisten outside sponsoring businesses and restaurants, at least until they melt.

A "Cocoa Crawl" also will offer cocoa tastings from noon to 3 p.m. Tickets to that event are $20 and include an official mug and lanyard. To purchase tickets, visit the DWA website at Downtownwheaton.com.

Other winter-themed activities include the Wheaton Park District's "Ice-A-Palooza" at the Central Athletic Complex, 500 S. Naperville Road. Ice-A-Palooza returns from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with open skating and hockey, s'mores and children's entertainment. Bring your own skates; rentals will not be available.
