Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley offers tutor training

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley is offering a free tutor training workshop from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 8-17, at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

The program helps adults read, write, speak, and understand English by matching them with trained volunteers who provide in-person or virtual lessons once each week at a time that is convenient for both.

If you know English, you can teach English to a Fox Valley resident who needs to learn. Volunteers do not need teaching experience or a second language to be successful. Most of the adults who are enrolled in the program want to learn practical English that will help them navigate American culture.

The program provides material and instruction, so anyone can help.

For more information or registration, visit www.lvfv.org or call/text (630) 584-4428. Attendance will be limited to allow for social distancing and masks will be required.
