Hines VA offering flu shots, health care enrollment to Elgin-area veterans Jan. 28

On Friday, Jan. 28, Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital's Community Outreach Team will offer flu vaccinations, blood pressure checks and enroll interested veterans into VA health care at the Elgin American Legion Post 57, 820 N. Liberty St.

The outreach team will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All area veterans are welcome to attend and meet with a Hines enrollment coordinator. VA health care is not required for veterans to receive a flu vaccination or blood pressure check.

A representative from Hines VA's Blind Rehabilitation Center will also be available during the event to explain services for visually impaired veterans and offer educational materials.

"Many Elgin-area veterans may not know all the benefits and resources offered to them through VA," said Robin Brooks, Hines VA Outreach Coordinator. "That's why we're coming. I'm a veteran, and I want to help my fellow veterans access everything they've earned through their service."

Please bring a copy of your DD-214 and a Photo ID.
