Addison man gets life term for sexual assault of two children

An Addison man has been sentenced to life in prison, without the possibility of parole, for sexually assaulting two girls.

In October, a jury convicted Stephan Filipiak, 58, of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault - victim under 13 years old.

He was sentenced Wednesday by DuPage County Judge Michael Reidy.

In October 2018, authorities accused Filipiak of assaulting the girls, ages 5 and 7, in his home. The girls were daughters of an acquaintance.

Court records indicate he lived on the 400 block of North Mill Road at the time.

Filipiak has been held on $1 million bail since his arrest on Oct. 31, 2018.
