St. Emily School to postpone Catholic Schools Week Open House

Around the Archdiocese of Chicago, schools traditionally kick-off Catholic Schools Week with an open house on the last Sunday in January. This year, out of an abundance of caution due to the current spread of Covid-19, St. Emily School in Mt. Prospect will postpone the open house and welcome families and prospective families on Sunday, February 13.

The CSW Open House is a time for current and new families to gather, tour the school, and meet with teachers. St. Emily Principal, Karen Booth, noted, "Our open house is a big, family-oriented event. We want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy it, so we will host the event at a later date."

The students will celebrate a Family Mass Sunday, January 30, as well as spirit day, service days, and teacher and student appreciation days during Catholic Schools Week, January 30-February 4.

Founded in 1961, St. Emily School continues to celebrate "60 years of forming saints and scholars" through the 2021-2022 school year.
