Blackhawks' DeBrincat heading to first All Star Game
Alex DeBrincat was chosen to represent the Blackhawks at the NHL All-Star Game, which will take place in Las Vegas on Feb. 5.
DeBrincat came into Thursday's action with the fourth-most goals in the league at 23. It will be his first all-star appearance.
Joining DeBrincat on the Central Division team are Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon (29 assists) and defenseman Cale Makar (16 goals), Winnipeg's Kyle Connor (19 goals), Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov (40 points) and goalie Cam Talbot, St. Louis' Jordan Kyrou (36 points), Dallas Joe Pavelski (35 points), Arizona's Clayton Keller (26 points) and Nashville goalie Juuse Saros.
It is the first appearance for everyone except Keller, MacKinnon and Pavelski.
Fans will be able to select one player per division as the Last Man In. The Hawks' representative on that list is defenseman Seth Jones. Former Hawks forward Ryan Hartman is also included.
Voting is open until Monday at 10:59 p.m.
The All-Star Game has been played in a 3-on-3 format since 2016. The Central Division will take on the Pacific Division, with the winner facing the Metro-Atlantic winner.
