Glenview man accused of child molestation

A Glenview man faces two felony charges stemming from an investigation into a complaint of sexual abuse of children.

Bruce Claver, 57, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and predatory criminal sexual assault, Glenview police said.

Police began an investigation on Dec. 24 after a parent reported abuse had occurred over multiple years.

During the investigation, police learned of a separate complaint involving another child. Claver and the children are not related, police said.

So far, Glenview police haven't released further information.

Claver was taken to the Skokie courthouse for a bond hearing, and bail was set at $250,000.

The Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County, the Department of Child and Family Services and the Cook County state's attorney's office helped with the police investigation.

Anyone with more information about the case should call the police department at (847) 729-5000 or the tip line at (847) 901-6055.
