Montgomery resident charged in killing of Aurora man
A Montgomery man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of an Aurora man in May.
Ladarius Parker, 23, of the 1100 block of Light Road, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one count of unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon, according to the Kane County state's attorney's office.
Prosecutors allege Parker was attending a party May 2 on the 1700 block of Stonegate Drive in Montgomery when he shot and killed 30-year-old Christopher B. McMorris of Aurora. McMorris was sitting in a vehicle parked on the street, authorities say.
According to a May news release by police, they were called to a disturbance, and people reportedly had been fighting.
Charges were filed Dec. 27, and U.S. Marshals arrested Parker Friday in Freeport.
Bail was set Jan. 8 at $3 million; to be freed pretrial, Parker would have to post $300,000 bond.
His next court date is Jan. 19.
Montgomery police ask that anyone with information about the case to call Det. Chris Johnson at (331) 212-9074.
