Deadline nears for Rose Ambassador Scholarship

The annual Rose Ambassador Scholarship Event will be held on Friday, Feb. 11.

The event consists of judging in five areas: personal interview with the judges prior to the event, sportswear, talent, formal wear, and a Q&A opportunity as part of the event.

It will begin at 7 p.m. at Lake Park High School West Campus, 500 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Roselle.

The annual event offers local high school students an opportunity to compete for college scholarships totaling over $4,200.

The deadline for applications is Friday, Jan. 21. Applicants must include a typed 600-word or less essay.

As Rose Ambassador, you will reign at the annual Rose Parade, scheduled for June 5, and represent the village at various Chamber of Commerce, Roselle Public Library and Village of Roselle events throughout the year.

Contestants must be high school students and either live in Roselle or be a student at Lake Park High School.
