Schaumburg to host blood drive on Jan. 5

The Village of Schaumburg encourages the public to participate in the first Community Blood Drive of the new year from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at The Barn, 231 S. Civic Drive in Schaumburg.

Interested blood donor participants should call (877) 258-4825 or register online at www.vitalant.org; use sponsor code OR0SH98. Appointments are highly recommended to reduce wait times; however, walk-ins are welcome.

Vitalant has a critical shortage of all blood types - especially Type O - and urges donors who are eligible to donate now to replenish the blood supply.

All participants must wear a face covering. Safe social distancing measures will be in place. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home.

Participating donors will receive a either a Culver's Give a Pint, Get a Pint coupon or a coupon for one large, one topping pizza from Papa John's. All donors will also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of four $25 Lettuce Entertain You gift cards.
