DuPage Forest Preserve permits go on sale Dec. 1

Starting Wednesday, Dec. 1, the DuPage County Forest Preserve District is going to be selling 2022 annual permits for off-leash dog areas, private watercraft, stand-up paddleboarding, model crafts and the archery range.

The permits will be available online anytime at dupageforest.org or between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays at the district's headquarters at 3S580 Naperville Road in Wheaton.

To buy permits online, customers should visit the site and click on "register" and then "purchase permits."

To purchase by phone or for any questions, call (630) 933-7248 between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

People who wish to purchase permits in person can download applications in advance at dupageforest.org under "things to do," "get outdoors" and "permits and fees."

Dog owners can buy off-leash dog permits at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st St. in Oak Brook, from noon to 3 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Anyone entering these buildings must wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth.

Active U.S. military personnel and honorably discharged U.S. military veterans are eligible for one free annual permit per household for all permit types. And senior citizens 65 and older are eligible for one free annual permit per household. Permit holders who have qualified for free permits in the past two years will automatically receive a credit after completing their online transactions.
