The village of Mount Prospect's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christkindlmarket will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Mount Prospect Village Hall, 50 S. Emerson St., Mount Prospect.

The Christkindlmarket will be held in the Farley Community Room on the first floor of the village hall from 4-7 p.m. The holiday market will include an array of local vendors with creative gifts just in time for the holidays. Face masks are required. Christkindlmarket is sponsored by the Mount Prospect Special Events Commission.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 5 p.m. and will take place just outside the village hall at the northeast corner of Busse Avenue and Elmhurst Road/Route 83. This year's tree was donated by Mount Prospect residents the Bass Family.

Get in the holiday spirit with hot chocolate, cookies and good cheer. The Prospect High School Madrigals will perform a series of popular carols. The tree lighting is sponsored by the village of Mount Prospect. Cookies and hot chocolate will be provided by the Mount Prospect Lions Club.
