Naperville Police Department names Zbrozek deputy chief
The Naperville Police Department has named Jason Zbrozek as its new deputy chief.
Zbrozek, a 23-year veteran of the department, replaces Jason Arres, who was promoted last month to police chief. Zbrozek was most recently a commander in the department's Investigations Division, and he'll now lead the division.
"I'm very grateful for this opportunity and excited to build upon my past experiences to take on this new role within the organization," Zbrozek said in a statement.
Zbrozek, a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command, began his career with the Naperville Police Department in 1998 as a patrol officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 2017 and commander in 2019.
Zbrozek has served as a special operations group detective, financial crimes investigator and Drug Enforcement Agency task force agent. In his most-recent assignment as major crimes commander, Zbrozek supervised the department's Special Operations Group as well as the units involved with financial crimes, property crimes and crime scene evidence.
"Deputy Chief Zbrozek's well-rounded experience, decisiveness during critical incidents and communication skills make him a tremendous asset to the Investigations Division, this department and this community," Arres said in a statement.
