Alpine Fest to Open Winter Biergarten Season at Buffalo Creek Brewing Nov. 26

Winter is coming and Buffalo Creek Brewing in historic downtown Long Grove is embracing the season with the return of its Alpine Biergarten and a variety of other special events and releases coming up over the next couple months. The destination brewery known for its handcrafted German-style beer, all season biergarten, and lively atmosphere is, as owner Mike Marr says, "not only a place that's centered around the art of brewing, but a shared space that connects people and friends."

Alpine Fest: Nov 26, 27, 28

BCB takes a page out of its German-rooted handbook with its Alpine Biergarten and Lodge concept opening Black Friday. After a successful inaugural run last year, the brewery looks to transform its picturesque grounds once again into an alpine winter retreat throughout the upcoming cold months - like they regularly do in Europe. Set against a scenic pine forest backdrop, the Alpine Biergarten at BCB features multiple roaring fire pits, patio and barrel table heat lamps, throws and apparel to stay warm, twinkle lighting, holiday décor, outdoor table service, and over two acres of winter wonderland to explore. During opening weekend (Nov 26-28), aptly named Alpine Fest, the Chicago Culinary Kitchen food truck will be on-site serving up Texas-style BBQ to heat things up even more! Also, new this year, BCB will expand its Alpine concept with the introduction of the Alpine Lodge - a cozy German winter lodge atmosphere for those who prefer to stay indoors.

New Beer Release: Oct 26, 29 and Nov 12, 26

Each month, Mike brews new handmade beers and hard seltzers to add to his extensive menu. From crafty small batch releases to old favorites back by popular demand, Mike gives his fans a wide selection of fresh choices each month. BCB creations are available on tap at the brewery or in growlers or cans for takeout or curbside pickup.

Oct 26: Pumpkin Pie Ale: A true cult classic, Pumpkin Pie Ale returns this month with its mix of locally-made honey, Vermont maple syrup, and real pumpkins. The beer is fermented with Saison yeast and the flavors are subtle without being overly sweet. This one is a homage to the ultimate Thanksgiving treat and it goes fast!

Oct 29: Candy Corn Ale: In celebration of National Candy Corn Day and Halloween, Mike is bringing back his insanely popular Candy Corn Ale. This small batch release is made with real candy corns and combines a silky cream ale with accents of that familiar marshmallow, vanilla, and buttery caramel-like flavor to produce a hauntingly delicious beer.

Nov 12: Barrel Aged Hallows: The return of BCB's wood barrel aged beer, Hallows, returns for loyal fans. This velvety smooth Russian Imperial Stout, which was aged in bourbon barrels with Cacao Nibs and Tahitian Vanilla Beans for more than 9 months, is almost ready to be enjoyed once again.

Nov 26: True North: To continue the brewery's support of Youthbuild Lake County, BCB is re-launching its annual fundraiser beer, a Christmas Ale called True North. $1 from every beer sold will benefit the non-profit's mission of helping self-sufficient young adults thrive and improve their communities.

Veteran's Day Tour & Taste: Nov 11

BCB is honoring America's veterans this year with a Veteran's Day Tour & Taste celebration. Beginning at noon until close, all veterans (with ID) will receive half-off on all BCB beers. At 6 pm, veterans and their family and friends will receive a complimentary brewery tour and beer sampling led by a BCB beer expert.

Pint of Music Concert Series: Oct 23, 30

BCB's Fall Concert Series closes out with a hand-picked selection of BCB favorites on the biergarten Main Stage. Pint of Music weekends showcase some of the best local talent the area has to offer, without a cover, and outdoors unless the weather dictates otherwise. On Saturdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., music lovers can settle down with a cold BCB beer and enjoy the following performers: Oct 23: Anthony Lux; Oct 30: Sarah Day.

Food Truck Pop-Up Night: Oct 22, 23, 29, 30 and Nov 5, 6, 12

BCB's Food Truck Pop-Up Night continues with some of the most popular local food trucks every Friday and Saturday in the biergarten from 5 pm to 8 pm. Oct 22: Pizza Society serving up piping hot custom pies; Oct 23: Lucky Bar & Grill serving up juicy handmade burgers; Oct 29: Smokin T's serving up authentic BBQ; Oct 30: TBD; Nov 5: Fork N' Fry serving up gourmet fries; Nov 6: Billy Brick's: TBD; Nov 12: TBD
