Scarecrow-building contest Oct. 15 in Mundelein

A scarecrow-building contest for all ages will be held Friday, Oct 15, at Community Park, 1401 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein.

Participants can build a scarecrow with family or friends at home using any materials. Finished scarecrows will be judged from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Hocus Pocus in the Park event. Scarecrows will be displayed on the fence and voted on by event guests.

Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. First place will receive a $30 gift card, but there may be multiple winners depending on the number of entries.

The cost to participate is $5. Only one person needs to register but all participants making the scarecrow should be listed. Visit https://www.mundeleinparks.org/.
