'Art on Main' to auction off benches on Oct. 7

"Art on Main" has been adorning Main Street for 10 years and is the longest running outdoor art exhibit in Lake County.

This year's "canvas" features Aldo Leopold benches, known to be the perfect seat for bird watching. There are 15 art pieces in all, sponsored by various businesses and organizations, with local artists lending their talent to create these masterpieces.

This annual fundraiser culminates with a live auction at the Wauconda Farmers Market at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7. The auction features celebrity auctioneer and local barber Will Tremont. Proceeds from the auction benefit the beautification of Main Street and beyond.

This year the benches were custom made by Steven Stiller, son of the late Steve Stiller, the beloved carpenter for many past art exhibits.

For information regarding the auction, contact Maria Weisbruch at the Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce, (847) 526-5580.
