Every Thursday in September, Hooters' Wings for the Kids program raises funds for education

During the entire month of September, Hooters Management Corporation will donate one-third of all chicken wing sales on Thursdays to Holy Family School.

The Hooters Wings for the Kids Program started in the Chicago area in 1992.

Since then it has raised over $819,333 for Holy Family School. The money raised funds tuition, technology and books for underprivileged children in the community. Holy Family School is located in Homan Square on the west side of Chicago.

Participating Chicagoland Hooters locations for Wings for the Kids include:

• Hooters of Countryside, 5925 S. LaGrange Road, Countryside;

• Hooters of Downers Grove, 1303 Butterfield Road, Downers Grove;

• Hooters of Fox Valley, 4395 Fox Valley Center Drive, Aurora;

• Hooters of Joliet, 3301 Hennepin Drive, Joliet;

• Hooters of Lansing, 17060 S. Torrence Avenue, Lansing;

• Hooters of Melrose Park, 2503 W. North Avenue, Melrose Park;

• Hooters of Oak Lawn, 9159 S. Ciero Avenue, Oak Lawn;

• Hooters of Orland Park, 15300 S. LaGrange Road, Orland Park;

• Hooters of O'Hare, 8225 W. Higgins Road, Chicago;

Holy Family School was established in 1985 to offer a high-quality education for minority students in Chicago's low-income neighborhoods. Holy Family provides a learning environment that nurtures intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional and physical growth for students in kindergarten to eighth grade. All proceeds directly support the children of Holy Family, by funding scholarships and after school programs.

"Education is the surest way for a child to rise out of poverty. The partnership with Hooters Management Corporation offers significant support for our children to help them climb the ladder of academic success," said Holy Family School Chief Executive Officer Cheryl Collins.

"We started this program in the Chicagoland area 29 years ago to help raise funds to support children's education in our community. Being an active participant in our community including helping children and education is a priority of Hooters Management Corporation," said Hooters Management Corporation Chief Marketing Officer Denise Williams. In addition, Hooters employees volunteer each year when they present the donation to the school. In 2020, the Wings for the Kids program raised $34,833.

"In the small town of Waverly, Iowa in the 1960's, my friends attending the teen activities at Luther League every Sunday night included the future founder of Hooters, Ed Droste. Many years later, I called him to see if he would help our little school in the heart of the Chicago Cabrini Green housing projects, where we yearned for a better education for the children," recalls Dr. Susan Infelt Work, CEO Emeritus of Holy Family School. "Ed said yes, and the Hooters' tradition of caring and sharing was launched".
