Police: Missing Mount Prospect boy located safely

Update: Authorities said about 9:45 p.m. that Dillon had been found.

A 5-year-old Mount Prospect boy who went missing Monday evening has been located safely.

Police did not disclose details about where or how the boy had been found. According to a Facebook post by police, the boy named Dillon was reported missing about 6:15 p.m. Monday on the 300 block of East Berkshire Street.

Multiple area departments and Mount Prospect's Community Emergency Response Team took part in the search.
