Get ready to boogie at Wauconda's annual Street Dance Sept. 4

Enjoy live music, food, and fun at the Wauconda Chamber of Commerce's 22nd annual Street Dance. The event returns to downtown Wauconda from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, on Main Street, between Bangs Street and Route 176.

In addition to food and drinks, a bags tournament, and a split the pot raffle, the event will feature seven bands performing on three stages.

The Main Street Center Patio will present Jazz Du Jour from 6-9 p.m. featuring poetry collective Atrocious Poets.

The Wauvinia Stage will feature Wait, What? from 4:30-5:30 p.m., Heather & Josh from 5:45-6:45 p.m., and Wauconda Wildside from 8-9 p.m.

The Main Stage will feature Mitch The Lip & Side Hustle from 5:30-6:45 p.m., Wichita Jacks from 7:15-8:30 p.m. and the Nick Bell Band from 9-10:30 p.m.

The annual Mayor's Community Service Awards will be presented to recognize individual and business achievements in the village at 7 p.m. on the Main Stage.

The bags tournament starts at 5:30 p.m. Register by Sept. 3 for the bags tournament at waucondachamber.org for $20 per team, or at 5 p.m. on the day of the event for $30 per team.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Over 21 wristbands for alcohol consumption will be available at one of three info booths; temperature checks and waivers will be required for wristbands. Face masks are urged when not eating or drinking. If entering local establishments, guests are advised to follow the state of Illinois mask mandate.

"Illinois bars and restaurants are open, and we're pleased to present an open-air option for people to safely enjoy and support their town," said Stacy Chambers, Street Dance Committee chair.
