St. Charles Business Alliance accepting applications for Scarecrow Contest

The St. Charles Business Alliance is now accepting applications for the 2021 St. Charles Scarecrow Festival Scarecrow Contest. The festival will run from Friday, Oct. 8 through Sunday Oct. 10.

Individuals, families, businesses, clubs, schools and nonprofits interested in entering the contest may do so by completing and returning the Scarecrow Contest entry form by Sept. 18. There is no entry fee.

St. Charles Business Alliance Executive Director Jenna Sawicki said the Alliance is looking forward to hosting this year's Scarecrow Fest.

"We are hoping for some great weather so everyone can come out and enjoy this great community event," said Jenna Sawicki, St. Charles Business Alliance executive director.

This will be the 36th annual Scarecrow Festival, an award-winning, three-day event featuring the scarecrows displayed throughout downtown St. Charles, a family zone in Lincoln Park with live entertainment, a photo op area, and scarecrow in a box. Also included is Autumn on the Fox Arts and Crafts Show at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Ave.

Categories for the Scarecrow contest:

• Mechanical /Mega Category - Open to all;

• Clubs, Nonprofits, Schools - Open to all clubs, nonprofits, and schools;

• Individuals Category - Open to all individuals & families not affiliated with a business or organization;

• Business Category - Open to all businesses.
