Wheaton hosting electronics recycling event
Wheaton has organized an electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 14, at the city's public works storage yard, 820 W. Liberty Drive, near the police department.
Residents can drop off electronics, scrap metals, fluorescent tube bulbs and other items for recycling. Textiles such as clothes, shoes, purses, towels and sheets should be bagged.
Residents should leave donations in the trunk and stay in their vehicles; staff members and volunteers will retrieve them. Volunteers, staff and participants also are asked to follow federal COVID-19 guidelines. For a full list of accepted items, visit wheaton.il.us.
