Opening night Aug. 6 for 'Vessels in Time' at ClaySpace Ceramic Arts Center

ClaySpace Ceramic Arts Center, 740 Front St. in Lisle, presents "Vessels in Time" by resident artist Paul Gausemel. His intentional process fuses sketching his concepts with embracing the spontaneity and evolution of working on the wheel.

This show will have a beautiful combination of wall pieces, sculpture, as well as more functional pieces. Gausemel enjoys creating pieces in series to learn more about each process. His work with shino glazes brings out an earthy range of colors from cool to warm.

Come enjoy a collection of what Paul has been creating over the past few years.

Gausemel favors making vessels and this show is a sampling of his vessels over several years. He is also displaying some wall pieces, sculpture, and an assortment of traditional serving pieces. He enjoys making things in a series of three or more as he feels he learns something more about the process by doing so. Most of his work is fired in a gas kiln to Cone 10 reduction and has an earthy quality.
