Schneider visits Glenview, calls action on bill that would fund road improvements
Congressman Brad Schneider, a Deerfield Democrat representing the 10th District, called for Senate action on infrastructure investments during his visits to Glenview and North Chicago earlier this week.
The infrastructure bills currently in front of the U.S. Senate contain funding language for improvements the intersection of Glenview's Milwaukee and West Lake avenues.
"Our nation's infrastructure has fallen behind after failing to invest in it for generations," Schneider said. "The consequences of Senate action right now will impact our communities in Illinois. People don't realize that bottleneck intersections like ours in Glenview and storm sewers like ours in North Chicago are what is at stake in the Senate. If we can invest in these projects, traffic and flooding will abate, delivering jobs and a boost to our quality of life."
Schneider helped secure House passage of funding for the Glenview project as part of the INVEST in America Act.
The INVEST in America Act is comprehensive legislation that would modernize our roads, bridges, transit, rail, drinking water and wastewater infrastructure, and so much more. The transformational bill would move our country away from the status quo and would lay the groundwork for an infrastructure package for the modern era.
