Three Mt. Prospect Friends Host Huge Record Sale July 24

MT. PROSPECT, IL (July 22, 2021) -They're back! Three Mt. Prospect friends Bob, Bob, and Fred -each with music industry experience and knowledge - will hold a huge vinyl record sale Saturday, July 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 306 W. Hiawatha Trail in south Mt. Prospect, just off Route 83.

Hundreds of people of all ages visited the last record sale held May 15. Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Feat and Rush were just a few of the artists that sold fast.

"We will have tons of new stuff," record sale host Bob Szeliga said. "The last sale was amazing. We saw so many new people, made new friends and enjoyed talking music. Both Bob (Hurns) and Fred (Prelberg) have hundreds of records and new stock; Bob has a unique and wide assortment of vinyl and CDs, and Fred has 100s of new sealed vinyl."

"Fred, who works in the record industry, is just coming off record day so you never know what you'll find," Hurns said. "Last May we sold tons of stuff and every artist under the sun. From classic, to country, to jazz, to heavy metal, movie soundtracks, rock and roll to comedy, we sold a bit of everything. Classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Michael Jackson were flying out of the boxes. Before we put anything out for sale, we clean the records, and the album covers and make sure the quality is there."

The sale features music of all types - rock, country, classical, movie soundtracks, comedy, jazz and records you never thought existed. CDs, DVDs, and other music-related items will also be available.

This is about the 15th year the record sale has been held here, Szeliga said.

"It's great fun," Szeliga noted. "We really enjoy seeing the same folks come back along with new music fans to talk music and find treasures. Bob, Fred, and I always find new stock throughout the year. So, if you're looking for that hard to find album, we probably have it."

The sale will go on rain or shine and discounts are available.
