St. Charles utility customers to receive $20 rebate
The St. Charles City Council has approved a $330,000 utility rebate for residents and businesses.
The rebate equates to $20 per customer, according to St. Charles Finance Director Chris Minick, and will be applied to accounts with an active or final status as of July 6. The rebate will appear as an adjustment on upcoming utility bills mailed July 20, July 25 and Aug. 5.
Customers have the option of donating their $20 rebate to the city's Neighbors in Need program by calling (630) 377-4426 or emailing utilitybilling@stcharlesil.gov to help residents struggling to pay their utility bills.
"Throughout the pandemic, the city has implemented measures to help residents and businesses who had difficulty paying their utility bills," Minick said. "This rebate is one more way to help struggling residents get through this difficult time."
