Roselle village board names new village administrator
The Roselle village board on Monday appointed Jason Bielawski as the new village administrator.
Bielawski, 43, who has served as Roselle's assistant village administrator since June 2006, has nearly 20 years of municipal government experience. Previously, he worked as the assistant village manager for Wilmette and as a policy analyst for the Northwest Municipal Conference, a council of local governments in the Northwest suburbs.
Bielawski replaces Jeff O'Dell, who retired as village administrator in early May after 21 years with the village.
"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve as village administrator and I truly appreciate the support of Mayor Pileski and the trustees," Bielawski said in a statement. "Roselle is a great community led by a great village board and dedicated staff, and I am eager to continue to work with them and the entire community on accomplishing important initiatives here."
Bielawski said his biggest priorities in the new role are capital infrastructure projects, such as improving stormwater drains and the wastewater treatment facility. Additionally, he said repairs and investments are needed in other public facilities, such as the public works facility and Roselle Fire Department building, both of which were built in the early '90s.
Bielawski earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Iowa in 2000 and a master's degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University in 2002. He has served on the boards of the Illinois Association of Municipal Management Assistants and the Illinois City/County Management Association.
He lives in Naperville - where he was born - with his wife Michelle and their rescue Boston terrier, Max.
"Jason is a consummate professional who is no stranger to Roselle, with 15 years of service to the village," Mayor David Pileski said in a statement. "I'm excited to work closely with him to continue our work making Roselle a strong community in which to start a business, raise a family and enjoy retirement."
