Northbrook's summer concert series returns

Grab your blankets, picnic baskets and dancing shoes! Tuesdays in the Park is back at Village Green Park.

Set for Tuesday nights June 29, July 6, 13 and 20, the free concerts take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the center of the park on the pathway. Registration is not required. Face coverings are optional if you are fully vaccinated. Unvaccinated individuals and children ages 2-11 must wear face coverings when six feet of distance cannot be maintained outside their group.

"Tuesdays in the Park is part of a longtime tradition in Northbrook of having a summer music series in the park. We're so excited to have the concerts back in Village Green Park," said Performing Arts Manager Erin Sweet. "We have an excellent lineup of performances planned and are ready to celebrate the summer season!"

Concerts include:

• June 29: Billy Elton. Enjoy a timeless journey through the catalogs of music legends Billy Joel and Elton John with this eight-piece band.

• July 6: The Wayouts. Upon discovering a love of garage rock, these four friends and band members wanted to bring something different to the live music scene. Their combination of intensity and exuberant performance delivers fresh life to classic 60s songs.

• July 13: The Flat Cats. This group of six talented musicians with years of performing experience plays a range of vintage to modern music rooted in the hottest swinging jazz and blues, contemporary classics and timeless standards.

• July 20: Jolly Ringwalds. Sing and dance along to your favorite 80s tunes. With multiple singers, this group provides a fun, interactive experience for all ages.
